On October 24, 1964 Zambia (formerly Northern Rhodesia) became independent after decades of British colonial rule. Zambians celebrate October 24, every year, to remember the sacrifices the brave men and women made that led to independent rule. In addition Zambians celebrate the peace, unity and various freedoms they continue to enjoy after independence. This year
