Lenny Kravitz: More Than Music

Lenny Kravitz: More Than Music

Seven-time Grammy Award winner Lenny Kravitz founded an interior design firm in 2005 and has now received his first Canadian assignment.  Kravitz will design a 10,000 square foot floor at Toronto’s Bisha Hotel and Residences in the city’s entertainment district.  He will join with Lifetime Developments and INK Entertainment at their $150 million site at 56 Blue Jays Way.  He intends to tour Toronto before deciding how the project will materialize but said, “It’s going to be plush, lush, comfortable and inspiring”.

Since founding his firm he’s done interiors in the Delano Hotel (Miami), a recording studio for the Setai Resort & Residences in Miami Beach and a 47-storey tower in downtown Miami.  Kravitz says he’s been interested in interior design since he was eight years old.  He says the creative process is similar to that of music – both give incredible satisfaction.

Construction of the 30,000 square foot complex is scheduled to begin in March with a planned opening in 2014.  The Bisha, said to blend rock sensibility with real estate and recreation will include in-house entertainment, two bars, two restaurants, a 24-hour café, 7,000 square foot rooftop patio, an infinity pool, and 332 condo suites (94% sold).  Kravitz has been given carte blanche for his project.  The developers hope to make the Bisha brand known across Canada and into the U.S.
