Many thought the game against last place Edmonton
on October 13th would be a rout with quarterback Ricky Ray on the sidelines and red hot Jarious Jackson commanding the troups. But it wasn’t. The Lions did hold on to win but barely - 24-18. The win came thanks to a couple of game-saving defensive plays by LaVar Glover in the closing minutes of the game. Jason Clermont had an exciting 93 yard catch and run and Ian Smart contributed a 56 yard punt return but otherwise the Lions offense was kept at bay. Some players blamed the slippery field. In the final analysis - it was an ugly win but a win is a win and this game ugly or not clinched a home playoff game.
